Suzanne F. Leclair est une artiste canadienne née à Montréal. Suite à sa formation en arts visuels au CÉGEP, elle a été active dans la communauté artistique avec des expositions individuelles en 1978-1980's. Puis une envie de ressourcement l'a lancée dans une aventure en Sciences de la Terre (BSc, Msc en géographie, PhD en géologie et postes d'enseignement ou de recherche en sédimentologie fluviale). Ce milieu fait appel à une même ouverture d'esprit, aux concepts d'expérimentation, notions d'espace, expertises manuelles, quête de découvertes et de partages que celui de l'art. Elle a vécu 10 ans aux USA, beaucoup voyagé pour son travail sur le terrain et développé des collaborations à l'international, se créant ainsi un riche bagage composite d'expériences d'artiste-chercheure. Elle a retrouvé son atelier en 2017 et développé une nouvelle pratique artistique.
Suzanne F. Leclair is a Canadianl artist born in Montreal. Following her Visual Arts studies at college (CEGEP), she was active in the Art community with solo exhibitions from 1978 to 1980's. A desire for renewal then led her to pursue a career in Earth Sciences (BSc, MSc in Geography, PhD in Geology, and teaching and research positions in fluvial sedimentology). This field calls upon the same open-mindedness, concepts of experimentation, notions of space, manual expertise, and quest for discovery and sharing as the Art world. She lived in the USA for 10 years, traveled extensively for her fieldwork, and developed international collaborations, thus creating a rich and diverse portfolio of experiences as an artist-researcher. She returned to her studio in 2017 and developed a new artistic practice.
